To Believe or Not to Believe…
To all those who don’t subscribe to anything remotely spiritual, esoteric or airy-fairy, I completely understand your reluctance to do so. Many will have very real and valid reasons for not wanting to accept things that cannot be proven or seen or simply lack any scientific and fundamental proof of existence.
All I would say is that I was once where you are now. Born to a rational and logical brain, there was always an explanation for most phenomena in life. Science was a favourite subject because it proved how things worked, existed and how progress evolved. It provided proven tests and outcomes, tangible and widely-accepted evidence and documented trials. Drugs were developed to treat unseen bacteria and viruses, microwaves cooked our food in minutes. Yes science can be a wonder, that’s for sure.
Fast forward to a time where I happened to be dragged along to a spiritual healer with colleagues. With a negative mindset, I refused to acknowledge anything was wrong with me. In seconds, without even touching me, he diagnosed a condition I never knew I had and said he had fixed it. He predicted what I would experience in the next 2-3 days and guess what – he was right. Ok, power of suggestion perhaps? As a non-believer I would not have thought so. But he also managed to empty my head of all the chatter and noise, so much so that I tried so hard to worry about something – and just couldn’t. It was as if someone had lifted all the tension from my eyes, forehead and scalp. It was better than any conventional drug I’d tried. On two separate occasions, I actually went to him for unusual pain and he not only cleared it up but also told me what was causing it so I could prevent it.
He recommended reading Barbara Brennan’s first book called “Hands of Light” which I did. The author is a scientist who also developed her spiritual skills in early childhood and developed a practice treating others and teaching others to learn how to become healers.
The fundamental concept is actually aligned closely to science insofar as universal energy is concerned. Atoms contain energy which is powerful. Human beings are made up of billions of cells with billions of atoms, all containing energy. It’s not too far a stretch when looking into the concept of energy matrices to see how it is possible to treat human beings with energy derived from other human beings.
Have you ever felt the electricity generated between people? Have you ever felt a connection with someone you just met, or felt that deep stirring of emotion when attracted to someone? Have you ever felt an instant dislike for someone you just met for no apparent reason? Did you or your children have imaginery friends when small and were they imaginery or real? Listen to what small children say as they often see what adults don’t. Animals also sense things we can’t see or feel. Intuition and de ja vu are real phenomena because of the energetic connections we share.
Wayne Dyer wrote a book called “You’ll See It When You Believe It” which challenges the more common approach of believing something only when we see it proven or happening. The law of attraction is based on energetic universal connections and messages bringing about what we need.
It is a hard concept to accept in this day of facts and figures, analysis and concrete data. It is also difficult to separate out pure spiritual and energetic concepts from religious fervour and hype or cult-like gurus who rip off gullible, weak and vulnerable folk. They do exist and this emphasises the importance of personal responsibility in making your own mind up about it all. Ancient civilisations and cultures have used modals like yoga and meditation as the basis for promoting wellness and health in their communities. These are still used today.
If you have an interest to explore further, recommended reading includes Wayne Dyer, Debbie Ford, Barbara Brennan, Louise Hay, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle or Esther and Jerry Hicks. If not, then your choice is accepted and respected.
